about me.

…in a few words.

family.
Everything in my career path has prepared me for launching and running a successful PR company, but I believe nothing can ever, EVER prepare you for motherhood. Loving every minute of it!

Ottawa life.
A lifestyle change resulted in a move from Toronto to Ottawa in 2000 and I haven’t looked back since. My friends keep asking me why I love Ottawa so much and I simply tell them, ‘… because my dry-cleaner smiles and waves at me when I walk by.” I think Ottawa is the most wonderful place on earth to work and play, (but then again, I’m biased). Here’s more reasons why…

creativity.
Lover of white space and clever creative that breaks through the clutter. I memorized my first commercial at age 5 and can still recite it today, word-for-word.

inquisitive.
The answers to the following six questions will generally quench my thirst for knowledge: Who. What, Where. When. Why. How.

driven.
I embrace challenges both professionally and personally. Inspired by thought-leaders and entrepreneurship, I’m often found wrapped up in a book on either topic.

balance.
I work hard but play equally as hard. When not crafting news releases or pitching a client’s story, you will often find me behind a camera lens, exploring the city’s awesome green spaces starting practically in my own backyard and soaking up culture by exploring an Ottawa event, museum or festival. I feel blessed to be a tourist every day in a city I can call home.

addicted.
My addiction to social and traditional media is my preoccupation. The first step is admitting it.

self-professed news junkie.
Always enjoy for a great news hook, a compelling headline and a well-crafted media story.

caffeine-dependent.
My work is largely powered by passion, right brained thinking and usually with a venti mocha-java at my side at all times. If you would like to share your story over coffee, give me a call, send me a tweet or a quick note by email to deanna@storylinepr.ca.

“Shaping and influencing opinions and perceptions was always intriguing to me. Working on both the agency and client side for big brand companies allowed me to gain a detailed understanding of the power of marketing and communications, and what it can do for organizations and individuals.”
